Thank you for choosing to ride with Trip India Hotels & Holidays. We are genuinely excited to put you on the road through some of the most spectacular mountain country on earth. Before you do, it is our responsibility — and yours — to be completely clear about what this journey involves.
A Himalayan bike expedition is not a scenic coach tour. It is a physically demanding, high-risk adventure. The information below is not intended to discourage you — it is intended to make sure you decide to ride with your eyes fully open, and to protect both you and TIH in the process.

Participation in a TIH bike tour is at your own risk. Trip India Hotels & Holidays will not be responsible for any injury, accident, illness, loss or damage arising from the harsh conditions of the roads, high altitude, weather, rider error or any other risk inherent to extreme adventure motorcycling.
The nature of this expedition
A TIH bike expedition across Ladakh is an extreme, high-altitude adventure. You will ride over some of the world's highest motorable passes — Khardung La (17,582 ft), Baralacha La, Tanglang La and Umling La (19,024 ft) — on long mountain roads that are frequently unpaved, uneven, narrow, or under repair. Weather can change without notice: rain, hail, snow, high winds, dust storms and extreme cold are all possible, even in the summer season. Sections of the route pass through remote terrain where mobile networks, fuel and immediate medical facilities are limited or unavailable for extended stretches.
Rider responsibility & assumption of risk
By participating in a TIH bike tour you acknowledge that motorcycling on such terrain carries inherent risk of accident, injury, breakdown and other incidents, and you voluntarily assume that risk. You are responsible for ensuring that you hold a valid motorcycle driving licence, are physically and mentally fit for high-altitude riding, have no medical condition that high altitude could aggravate, and possess sufficient riding experience for this type of terrain. If you have any doubt about your fitness, we strongly recommend a medical consultation before departure. Riding decisions — speed, overtaking, distance between bikes and choice of line on the road — remain entirely your own at all times.
What Trip India Hotels & Holidays provides
We are a travel facilitation and destination management company, not a racing, training or motorcycle-rental operator. On our bike expeditions we arrange the motorcycles, a road captain, a backup support vehicle, fuel stops, accommodation, high-pass permits and an acclimatisation plan, and we brief every rider before departure. Our ground team is trained to coordinate help in an emergency. These arrangements are made with care and diligence, but they do not — and cannot — remove the dangers inherent in extreme mountain riding.
Limitation of liability — please read carefully
Trip India Hotels & Holidays, its directors, employees, guides and representatives will not be held responsible or liable for any death, injury, illness, disability, loss or damage to person or property arising from or connected with the harsh and unpredictable conditions of the roads, high altitude, adverse weather, rider error, mechanical failure, wildlife, acts of third parties, force majeure, or any other event beyond our reasonable control. This disclaimer applies to the entire duration of the tour, including transfers to and from the starting point. Nothing in this document limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Motorcycle damage & security deposit
The motorcycle is provided under the rental norms of the supplier. Riders are responsible for the bike while it is in their care. Damage caused by a fall, crash, misuse or negligence — including but not limited to broken mirrors, bent handlebars, damaged footrests, scratched tank panels or engine damage — is payable by the rider as per the supplier's damage schedule, typically adjusted against the security deposit. Normal wear and tear from fair use is not charged. We recommend a full pre-ride inspection with photographs before you set off.
Insurance — your responsibility
Extreme adventure motorcycling is not covered by standard travel policies. We strongly recommend that every rider purchases a dedicated adventure / high-altitude motorcycling policy (such as those offered for Himalayan biking) that covers injury, medical evacuation, hospitalisation and trip interruption in remote areas. Trip India Hotels & Holidays is not liable for any costs that would have been covered by such insurance, and any medical, evacuation, repair or replacement costs not covered by your policy remain the rider's responsibility.
Emergency protocol
If an incident occurs, our road captain and support team will do everything reasonably possible to assist — stabilising the situation, contacting the nearest medical facility and coordinating evacuation. Please understand that in remote high-altitude sections, professional help may take considerable time to arrive. All costs of medical treatment, hospitalisation, evacuation, retrieval of the motorcycle and onward logistics in such situations are borne by the rider or the rider's insurance, not by Trip India Hotels & Holidays.
Acknowledgement of understanding
By booking a TIH bike expedition or paying the deposit, the participant acknowledges that they have read, understood and accepted all of the above — including the disclaimer of liability — and that they participate voluntarily, in full awareness of the risks involved. No signature is required on this website; proceeding with a booking is confirmation of acceptance. For group bookings, the lead traveller confirms that every member of the group has been made aware of and accepts these terms.
